The Book

She is still Rowan.
And you are still you.

Rowan is a white Yeti with a pink beanie who lives alongside six companions β€” each one invisible to everyone around her, but very real. Milo makes everything heavy. Drift steals her thoughts mid-sentence. Ember never quite leaves. Prism turns up the volume on everything. Whisper takes away her feeling. And Willow brings tears without warning.

For every child and family living with chronic illness, Rowan & the Yetis offers something rare: characters to name what's happening, without shame. Because no matter who shows up today β€” you are still you.

Author & Illustrator

Written & illustrated from the inside.

Misti Lantz is the author and illustrator of Rowan & the Yetis. She lives with multiple sclerosis. She didn't imagine Milo, Drift, Ember, Prism, Whisper, and Willow β€” she lives with them every day. This is the book she needed and couldn't find: one that gives children and families the words to name what's happening without shame or explanation.

Published through Barnes & Noble Press in 2026 under MindXpansion LLC, the book is the first in a planned series β€” one volume for each Yeti, each symptom, each story of living fully inside an invisible life.

Characters and scenes were developed using AI image generation tools, directed and curated by the author & illustrator.
